20-yr-old lady found dead in water park

A 20-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a water park in South-east Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj area on Saturday. According to the police, the victim has been identified as Savita.

Police said that they got to know at around 5.40 pm on Saturday when a guard spotted the body of a woman inside the premises of the Kalindi Kunj water park. After which, he raised an alarm with the higher authorities. A team of local police rushed to the spot and took the woman’s body to Al Shifa hospital in Okhla.

A senior police official of the South-east district said that so far, they have found that Savita used to work in an NGO and had come to the Water Park with a group of 70-80 persons who are also associated with the NGO. Savita lived at West Delhi’s Uttam Nagar area. From the documents and ID card, we identified the victim as Savita, a resident of JJ colony, Hastsal road in Uttam Nagar.

Police said that her family has been informed. Meanwhile, the girl’s body has been sent for post-mortem. “We are waiting for the post-mortem reports to establish the exact cause of her death. After which, due course of action will be taken,” said the senior police officer.

Police further said that they are questioning the security guard and other persons who were present at the spot. Meanwhile, police are also scanning the CCTV footage from the water park to establish under what circumstances did Savita enter the place and what exactly transpired which led to her death.

Police said that based on her PM report, requisite legal action will be taken. Further investigation is underway.
