20% sale at Khadi Gramodyog

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Khadi and village Industry Commission’s main branch, Khadi Gramodyog Bhawan flagged off its special sale of 20 per cent. The sale will go on till December.

The organisation will display their readymade garments and materials made of khadi and silk, and herbal products such as soaps, shampoos and skin care items, within the price range of Rs 10-10,000.

The inauguration of the event was done by Devendra Kumar R Desai, President of Khadi and Village Industries Commission, and special member Deshraj Gautam was also present on the occassion.

The products on sale will be displayed in various branches of the brand from Assam to Gujarat, and Kashmir to Kanyakumari, covering the whole of India. ‘This would be benefitial for the village workers all over the country as it would help them earn,’ said Desai.

Various kinds of clothing for men, women and children wil be available in the store, especially for women-kurtis, skirts, tops and salwar suits.

Along with these, products of daily requirement such as North Indian ground spices [garam masala], papad, haldi, herbal shampoo, soaps will also be available.

‘Delhi Government has taken this initiative to support the village workers with this sale every year,’ added Desai.

Khadi Gramodyog Bhawan, in Regal Building in New Delhi, is the biggest outlet of Khadi and Village Industry Commission, started on 13 April 1955.

 ‘In 2011-2012, the total income was Rs 2612.38 lakh,’ said Deshraj Gautam, member of Khadi and Village Industry Commission. The organisation, along with Delhi government, helps these workers throughout the year with their sales.
