20 Cong MLAs suspended from Gujarat Assembly

Congress MLAs were suspended for a day from the Gujarat Assembly after they rushed to the well of the House demanding discussion on recent unseasonal rains which affected farmers in the state. Earlier, the House was adjourned for more than 40 minutes on the same issue.
Congress chief whip Balwantsinh Rajput on Monday demanded in the House that there should be immediate discussion on losses suffered by farmers due to unseasonal rains and hailstorm in the last few days. Speaker Ganpat Vasava told Rajput that his 'urgent attention call notice' to discuss the unseasonal rains and their effect on crops of farmers has been accepted by him and he would schedule the discussion on the issue in next one or two days. He also told Rajput that it would not be proper as per the rules of the Legislative Assembly to discuss the issue immediately.
