2 youths shoot at businessman, try to snatch his bag

Two armed snatchers riding a motorcycle shot at a businessman when he resisted their bid to take away his bag in east Delhi’s Shahadara, police said on Thursday.
According to police, Rakesh Pathak (44) a resident of Shahdara, was returning home at around 9 pm on Wednesday when the incident took place.

‘Pathak, who runs a surgical equipments shop at Chandni Chowk boarded a metro from Chandni Chowk for Shahadara. When he came out of Shahadara metro station and started walking towards his home nearby, two youths stopped their bike in front of him and attempted to snatch his bag,’ said a police officer.

When they failed to do so, the person driving the bike took out a pistol and shot at him twice one of which hit him in his leg.

‘Despite the bullet injury, Pathak did not let his bag go. The snatcher then fired another shot on his
back and fled from the spot,’ police said.
