2 special commissioners appointed to monitor crime in city

To monitor law and order situation in Delhi, two special commissioners of different departments have been given additional work to monitor the law and order situation and further report it to special commissioner of police, Law and Order (DG scale).

According to sources, B S Bassi conducted a meeting with all the special commissioners of police at police headquarters on Wednesday morning and announced that there will two new special CPs who will look after the workings of law and order along with their current departments. Bassi further divided the six ranges into two zones—Northern and Southern Zone with each zone having 
three ranges.

Sources claim that SN Shrivastava, Special CP armed police and Recruitment will also be special CP, law and order (Northern zone) and Amulya Patnaik, Special CP, Vigilance will also be looking after the work of special CP, law and order( Southern Zone). Both the officers will report to Deepak Mishra, Special CP, Law and Order (DG scale).

The source further added that Northern zone will cover Central Range (Central district, North district), Northern Range (North-west district, Outer district) and Eastern Range (East district, North-east district) whereas Southern zone will cover South-eastern Range (South district, South-east district), South-western range (South-west district, West district) and New Delhi range (New Delhi district, special task force, Railway, Delhi Metro).

“All the concerned joint commissioners will report to their respective special CP about every crime incident as well as law and order situation. The special CPs on a daily basis will report to Deepak Mishra,” the source further added.

On Wednesday, Bassi verbally assigned the additional duty to both the officers. The orders are likely to come in a day or two, the source added.
