2 more minors raped in 2 days in outer Delhi

Amidst outrage over the increasing numbers of rapes and sexual assaults on women in the national capital, two more minors were allegedly raped in two separate areas of Delhi in the past two days.
In the first incident, a 15-year-old girl, a student of class VIII, was allegedly abducted and gang raped by two people at a knife point in the Samaypur Badli area of outer Delhi on Friday morning.
The victim's family approached the police on Saturday morning and a medical examination was conducted at Ambedkar hospital, which confirmed rape.
The victim has told the police that the accused, Rinku and Vinod, abducted her from the Samaypur Badli area and took her to a vacant plot in the area, and forced her to drink liquor. They then raped her. Police arrested Rinku on Sunday, while the other accused in the case, Vinod, is on the run. In the second incident, an 11-year-old girl was raped by a 22-year-old neighbour when she was alone at home in outer Delhi's Shahabad Dairy area on Sunday afternoon.
'Other neighbours who heard the victim's cries, caught the accused, Pawan, beat him up and handed him over to police', said a police officer.
According to police officials, in this case too, a medical examination has confirmed rape.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday said ‘vast improvement’ was needed to give women ‘security, safety and status’ and asked people to work together to end ‘depravity’ from society.
