2 minors raped in separate incidents

In two separate incidents in South-East Delhi and South-West Delhi, minor girls were raped in the national Capital. In the first incident, a nine-year-old girl was raped by her neighbour by luring her for a candy. According to the victim, when she was playing outside her residence in Ali Village in South-east Delhi, her neighbour (name withheld) lured her for candy and took her to an isolated place near railway track.
The accused raped her and when she raised an alarm, a passer-by ran for help. Seeing the passerby approaching towards him, the accused managed to flee. Meanwhile, her parents were searching for her as she was missing from home for more than two hours. Somehow, the girl managed to reach her residence and narrated the incident to her mother.
After a case was filed, the cops have arrested 26-year-old man who had not confessed his involvement in the crime. Meanwhile, a medical examination of the girl had confirmed rape and the accused has been booked under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and POCSO Act.
In the second incident, a 35-year-old man was repeatedly raping a 14-year-old girl in South-west Delhi’s Dwarka Sector-23 area for some months. The accused has been arrested.
The matter came to light when the victim got pregnant and narrated the incident to her mother. Both the victim and the accused were residing at the same floor of the building. Dharmveer, the accused is a driver of a local politician and he was threatening the girl of dire consequences.
A case under the sections of IPC and POCSO Act has been registered at Dwarka Sector- 23 police station against him and was arrested.
