2 militants, soldier killed in Kashmir encounter

Two militants and a soldier were on Friday killed in an encounter between the ultras and security forces in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, an army official said.
Security forces launched an anti-militancy operation in Wadder Bala village of Handwara in Kupwara district following information about presence of two to three heavily armed militants in the area, the official said.
He said two militants were killed in the exchange of firing between the two sides.
“One soldier was also martyred while another soldier was injured in the operation,” the official said.
The official said two AK assault rifles, one under barrel grenade launcher (UBGL), two radio sets and other warlike stores have been recovered from the spot.
