2 labourers electrocuted to death at construction site

Two labourers, working at an under construction building were electrocuted to death in the Bodaki area of Greater Noida on Wednesday. Police said that the victims met with the mishap when they were busy clubbing iron rods and a high tension wire fell of the rods. The labourers came in contact, suffered severe burn injuries and succumbed soon. Shockingly, this is the fourth incident of death by electrocution in the district this year, in which six people have died so far.
The incident took place at 10:30 am when 11 KVA lines, passing above the building, fell. As the high voltage wire, came in contact with the iron rods, the electricity got conducted through the rods. The two, who were clubbing the rods, suffered the current. The deceased were identified as Fakrubal (30) and Ashique (20), both residents of West Bengal. Police have sent the body for post-mortem.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dadari Anuragh Singh said: “Duo was electrocuted due to flow of current through iron rods after high tension lines fell on the rods. We have registered an FIR under relevant sections and are investigating the matter to ascertain where the negligence took place.”
