2 cops hit by a car, driver held

A car driver hit two women constables in Ghaziabad on Friday near the office of police chief. The police detained the driver and also confiscated the vehicle.
According to the police the incident occurred in the morning when two women constables, Saloni and Ritu, were crossing the road to reach the office of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghaziabad were they were deployed in the RTI cell. ‘The car driver himself rushed them to the nearby hospital. We have detained him, but the case has not been filed due to his polite and responsible behaviour,’ said a senior police officer at Kavi Nagar police station area.
‘It’s a minor offence and there are chances of compromise,’ said S S Yadav, S P City Ghaziabad.
The police, however, did not reveal the name of driver and he was reportedly set free late in the night.
