19-yr-old girl shot at by thieves for raising alarm in Moti Bagh

A 19-year-old girl sustained bullet injuries at the Moti Bagh area of South Delhi when unidentified persons shot at her when she tried to raise an alarm while the accused tried to steal from an electronic shop on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
Police said that the girl, Neeru was sleeping in the mother dairy outlet with her parents when she woke up to the sounds of dogs barking in the area.
She went out of the outlet and saw some men taking away LCD TV and other electronic items from a shop named MK Electronics in the vicinity. While the men were loading the electronic products in their car, she raised an alarm. They then started firing at herand two bullets hit her.
As per the statements of the MK Electronics, electronics worth Rs 25 lakh has been stolen, police added.
Seeing their daughter lying in a pool of blood, Neeru’s parents tried to raise an alarm but the culprits managed to flee from the scene.
According to the police, they got a PCR call at 2.58 am after which the police rushed the girl to the AIIMS Trauma Centre. Her condition is said to be stable.
Police said that the incident took place at the Basrurkar Market of Moti Bagh. A case under Sections 457 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment) , 380 (Theft in dwelling house) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Arms Act have been registered at the South Campus police station against unknown persons, police said. Police are scanning the CCTV footage of the area to establish the identity of the culprits and also the vehicle which was used in the crime.
