An 18-year-old Dalit girl, who was abducted last weekend was found murdered on Thursday. According to the police, before being killed, the girl might have been sexually assaulted. The deceased girl who was an intermediate student, was reported missing and her father had lodged an FIR in Pataudi police station on February 6, claiming that his daughter was missing since Saturday. He had alleged that Dharam Singh, resident of same village had a hand in her abduction.
Later, the police registered an FIR against Dharam Singh, for alleged abduction, under the Indian Penal Code.
The girl hailed from a Dalit family of the Jatauli village near Heli Mandi area. On the February 5, she went missing under mysterious circumstances.
According to the Haryana police, a dead body was found in a mustard field and was identified by the girl’s parents.
An official of the Pataudi police station said that the girl’s body had injuries around throat and she might have been sexually assaulted before murder. “We cannot rule out the possibility of gang-rape,” he said.
A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was called on the spot to collect evidence.
The police officer said it was only the post-mortem report that could reveal when the victim was killed but prima facie it looked like she was murdered three to four days back, the officer said.
