An 18-year-old medical student from Jaipur, who had come to AIIMS to take part in a fest there, is battling for his life after being found in a semi-comatose state in a suspected case of drug overdose.
Deepak Brajesh, a first year medical student at Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh medical college, was found lying at the AIIMS auditorium in a semi-conscious state in the morning on Wednesday.
He was admitted to the emergency ward of the hospital.
As there were no injuries to his body, doctor’s suspect drug overdose was the reason for the student being taken ill.
However, his urine and blood samples have been sent for tests to check for any toxic substances.
Meanwhile, Deepak’s father, SK Brajesh, also a doctor, insisted that his son was not into drugs. ‘He doesn’t even smoke or take alcohol, forget about taking drugs,’ the father added.
