18 killed, 25 injured in Pakistan road accidents

At least 18 people, including a family, were killed and 25 others injured on Wednesday in two separate road accidents in Pakistan.
At least 13 people were killed on the spot when a speeding bus en route from Multan to Karachi collided head-on with a truck in the southern Sindh province.
The accident - that occurred on the Indus Highway near Khairpur - also left 25 others injured who have been shifted to nearby hospitals, rescue officials said.
Initial reports said that five of the injured are in critical condition. In a separate accident, a family of fiver were killed when a car collided with a motorcycle near Beila in Balochistan province. A couple and their three children, who were travelling in the car, were killed when the vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine. Road accidents are common in Pakistan. Most of them are caused by rash driving and bad roads.
Last year, 58 people were killed in a similar road mishap when a bus rammed into a truck in Khairpur district.
