A 17-year-old minor girl who is a relative of a JNU professor was allegedly abducted on Monday afternoon by three to four men from JNU campus and later raped in a flat in South Delhi. After a few hours she was pushed out of the car in the campus and the accused managed to flee. One of the accused, reportedly known to the victim, has been detained. Senior police officials of South district remained tight-lipped on the incident.
The incident took place at around 3 pm when the victim was going out of JNU campus on some personal work. While she was walking inside the campus, an SUV car stopped near her and one of the occupants of the car, known to her, pulled her inside.Â
She was allegedly forced to consume a cold drink laced with sedatives. She was then taken to a flat in Munirka area where she was allegedly raped. At around 7.30 pm, the accused dropped her at JNU campus in the same SUV car. She was pushed  out of the car soon after they entered the campus.Â
When she regained consciousness, she took the help of a JNU student who took her to the transit residence where she was residing with a JNU professor who teaches Urdu. The professor is like a father-figure to the victim, a source said. She narrated the ordeal to him who then took her to the health centre of JNU and later taken to Safdarjung hospital.Â
Meanwhile, a call to the Police Control Room was made and a medical test was conducted that confirmed rape. A case has been registered at Vasant Kunj (North) police station.
