A 17-year-old boy was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his house at Alipur in Outer Delhi, police said on Wednesday. The boy’s family has alleged that it was not a case of suicide, but murder.
Neeraj was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his first-floor apartment.
The victim’s family told police that Neeraj was driving the scooty of one of his friends on Tuesday evening, and met with a minor accident in which the vehicle was damaged.
‘After the accident, his friend told him that he ought to pay Rs 8,000 as compensation. He was threatened, and told that a complaint would be sent to his family if he did not pay. The boy, in shock, committed suicide,’ police quoted family members as saying.
‘No suicide note was recovered. A case of abetment to suicide has been registered,’ a police officer said.
‘We are probing into the matter, and further investigations are in process,’ a police official said.
