16-year-old girl alleges rape by brother-in-law

The incident came to light when the girl managed to escape from her sister’s house. She was found crying by a passerby who took her to Civil Lines police station, a police official said.
The girl told police that she was brought by her brother-in-law to Delhi on the pretext of getting her a job. Soon after she started living with her sister and brother-in-law at their house in Majnu Ka Tila area.
She further told police that the accused, identified as Raja forced himself upon her and when she reported the matter to her sister (accused’s wife), she also took the sides of her husband.
After the medical examination confirmed rape, a case has been registered at the Civil Lines police station under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences and section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code in the matter. The accused is still to be arrested.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a BPO employee has registered a case against her live-in partner of sexually harassing her on the pretext of marriage. The couple had been living in Munirka area of south Delhi. According to the girl, her live-in partner, Shahvar Mazid has been living with her for last three years and sexually exploiting her on the pretext of marriage.
When the girl forced him for marriage he started threatening her. Further she filed a case at Vasant Vihar police station against the accused. A man-hunt is on to nab the accused, police said.
