16 killed, 15 injured in two road accidents in Gujarat

Sixteen people, including five women and a child were killed and 15 others were injured in two separate road accidents in Rajkot and Junagadh districts of Gujarat, police said on Thursday.

Seven people were killed and 15 others were left injured when a truck collided with a bus carrying pilgrims, near Junagadh town on Thursday morning, they said.

Similarly, nine people were killed when a jeep carrying 10 people, including eight members of same family, collided with a truck, on Wednesday night near Rajkot city. The injured have been admitted to Junagadh civil hospital and a case has been lodged against the truck driver who is absconding, police said.
