Facing flak post the unearthing of 15 corpses in Greater Noida, the district police on Tuesday, claimed that they have intensified their investigation to identify the bodies. The police said that they have formed several teams and have shared photographs with police stations in other districts.
Notably, the police had found these bodies from various nooks of the city over the last couple of months and most of them appear to be murders.
“Although, we had tried identifying the bodies, especially those of the women, we failed to get a head-start on any. There are no details in police records also. It appears that these people were killed outside the district and dumped to mislead investigation. However, there is no probability of
serial killing,” said Brajesh Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police (Rural) of Greater Noida.
“We have formed seven police teams, ordering them to visit neighbouring districts. The teams have been asked to visit police stations and to meet local organisations too. Messages are also being sent across in this regard so that the families can approach the police,” said the SP.
Notably, headlines of a serial killer, murdering young woman, burning them alive and dumping the bodies in Greater Noida have also hit the city. Shakti Samajik Samiti, a social organisation that works for women’s welfare, also met the District Magistrate (DM), NP Singh to take up the matter seriously. The DM has asked the delegation to look into matter and to find reasons behind the killing of women in the area.
