Accidental death of a school-girl in Noida on Tuesday witnessed massive protest and halting of traffic for several hours. A 14-year-old girl, studying at Nilgiri Hills Public School, died when a speeding school bus hit the vehicle in which she, along with others, was on her way to school. Police have registered a case against the errant bus driver and have sent the body for post-mortem. The agitating family members, however, have refused to relent demanding strict action against the driver and the concerned school.
As per the report, the incident took place around 7.15 am when the one, Veerpal Yadav, along with his daughter Neha and son Situ was going to the school, located in Sector 50. When their bike reached Sector 50’s crossing, a speeding school van rammed into them. As the speed of the school bus was high, it crushed the girl completely. Her father and brother also sustained severe injuries but the errant bus driver fled from the spot leaving them in a pool of blood.
The accident led to a massive jam in the area and the passers-by informed the police. The three were taken to district hospital where Neha was declared dead while the two others are recuperating. Hundreds of locals along with family members blocked roads that led to chaos in adjoining areas with a cascading effect on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
