14 criminals held in three separate encounters in Noida

The Noida Police on Friday arrested 14 wanted criminals in three separate encounters at various locations in the city. Police have claimed that the arrested criminals are members of gangs active in
Delhi-NCR region.
The arrested criminals have been involved in hundreds of cases of extortion, loot, murder, kidnapping and other heinous crimes. Meanwhile, two police constables have also sustained injuries during the encounters and are admitted in a hospital. According to police, the first encounter took place near BSNL crossing when a tip-off was received about presence of few criminals with
looted articles.
As policemen reached the spot, they saw a truck loaded with factory articles passing from the road. When the driver was asked to stop, they started firing on policemen. During the encounter, the criminals were forced to surrender. As many as 11 were arrested from the spot. Two country-made pistols, bullets and knives were also recovered from their possession.
The second encounter took place at Noida Sector 42 on Thursday night when police arrested Gaurav and Ravi, both carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 each. Police have recovered one pistol and other types of arms and ammunition from their possession. During the third encounter in Noida’s Phase-II area, one Imran was arrested.  Police claimed he was involved in over hundred cases of crime in the region and is amongst top 10 most wanted criminals in the district. He was also carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head.
