13-year-old girl raped by neighbour

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour who at New Ashok Nagar in east Delhi on Friday.
‘The accused, Atul (22), was a neighbour to the victim and he is still absconding,’ said a police official. He further said, the accused has been booked under relevant sections of IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to a source, the victim is an eighth standard student in a nearby school and the accused had intimidated saying her parents would be killed if she didn’t agree to get intimate with him. On Friday, when the victim was heading towards home after school, the accused met her and took her to a secluded place near Kalyanpuri, where he allegedly raped here.
