13-year-old girl found murdered in Narela

A 13-year-old girl was found murdered and allegedly raped when her body was found lying among bushes near a government school at Outer Delhi’s Narela area on Wednesday morning. Police have ruled out the possibility of rape but are waiting for the post-mortem reports to know the exact cause and time of death.

According to the police, the class VIII student went out of her house in Narela area at around 6.30 pm on Tuesday evening to buy groceries from a nearby shop. When she did not return after more than an hour, her brother started searching for her and at around 9 pm, he registered a case of kidnapping at the Narela police station.

A senior police official said that around 7.30 am on Wednesday morning, a passerby found the girl lying among bushes near a government school. Following which the girl was taken to a nearby hospital.

Police said that they have not completely ruled out the possibility of the role of someone known to the girl behind the murder. However, the girl’s family said that they do not suspect someone familiar behind the kidnapping and murder.

According to the police, the girl used to live with her family in a rented accommodation in the Pana Paposiya village in Narela. The Police also said that the incident happened in the absence of the girl’s parents who had gone out to visit their home town. Police have started investigation and are interrogating the family members and locals. A case of murder has been registered at the Narela police station under relevant sections of the IPC.
