12 gold biscuits taken out from man’s stomach

In a bizarre incident, 12 gold biscuits, weighing 1300 grams, were taken out from a 57-year-old man’s stomach during a major surgery at Shri Ganga Ram hospital in Delhi.
Dharmraj Mallik, a resident of Pashchim Vihar went to Singapore after a heated argument with his wife. He enjoyed his vacation in Singapore and returned to Delhi after four days. When he reached home, he complained of a severe stomachache. On that particular day he took some pain killers and slept. The next day his condition deteriorated. His wife arranged an ambulance and rushed him to the nearby Ganga Ram hospital. After undergoing an ultrasound, the doctors noticed the presence of foreign item inside his stomach.

Immediately he was operated upon by a team of senior doctors and during the operation 12 gold biscuits weighing around 1300 grams were taken out of his stomach. He underwent the operation on 9 March after which his condition remained critical. He is still admitted to the hospital. The hospital staff informed the local police about the recovery of gold biscuits inside the  man’s stomach. The doctors have handed over the foreign objects to the police, who further informed the customs department.
Speaking to Millennium Post, the custom department confirmed the news and said, ‘Custom’s city preventive unit is looking into the case and have recorded the victim’s statement.’
