11-yr-old succumbs after being hit by auto-rickshaw

In yet another incident, an 11-year-old boy was killed after being hit by an auto rickshaw in east Delhi’s Khajuri Khas area on Friday. Before escaping, the errant driver admitted the victim to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

The victim has been identified as Mohammad Sami who was playing near his residence. Meanwhile, a speeding auto rickshaw hit him and he fell on the ground. Soon after felling by his head he became unconscious.

After the incident, Sami’s friend rushed him to the nearby hospital in the same auto, that hit him. They took him to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital in Shastri Park. One of Sami’s friends had accompanied him to his hospital. After dropping them at the hospital he fled away.

When Sami’s friend, identified as Mujammil admitted him in the emergency ward, he was refered to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case of negligent driving and causing death by negligence against the unknown driver. So far, Delhi Police is clueless about the identity of the accused.

Sami’s friend who had accompanied him to the hospital told police he did not remember to note down the autorickshaw number because he was in a state of shock after the incident. He, however, said he is in a position to identify the driver if produced before him, said Sami’s brother.
