10L enrolment under Pradhan Mantri yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), a flagship programme of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, on Friday completed 10 lakh enrolments. The scheme, a pet project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims at providing jobs to youngsters by training them.
“The scheme has seen 10,28,671 enrolments under 382 active job roles, of which, 70 per cent have already completed trainings. The scheme has been implemented across all 29 states and six Union territories of the country, and covered 596 districts and 531 constituencies,” a press release issued by the ministry stated.
According to the release, the scheme addresses the requirement for skill development across 29 sectors, wherein around 566 job roles have been identified for courses and the youths can get enrolled and avail skill development training.
Appreciating the achievement, Skill Development Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, “I am elated at the response that the PMKVY has got 10 lakh enrolments. It’s good number and I’m happy to see how our ecosystem has come together to galvanise our country’s youth towards Prime Minister’s vision of a Skilled India.”
Commenting on the success, National Skill Development and Corporation (NSDC) Chairman S Ramadorai said, “The 10 lakh figure gives us a sense of achievement and also encourages us to gear ourselves even more, and galvanise many more in this public-private partnership.”
