105 German-made blank firing guns recovered from car during checking

Delhi Police on Tuesday recovered around 105 German-made blank firing guns from a car during random checking in south-west Delhi’s Dwarka area. Both the occupants of the car have been detained and are being interrogated.

According to a senior police official, on Tuesday afternoon during police checking in Dwarka, a Nano car was stopped. ‘They both got nervous when their car was stopped. We became suspicious and searched the vehicle thoroughly’, the official close to investigation said. Upon searching the car, the police recovered a jute bag with pistols inside it. During investigation it was found that the recovered pistols were blank firing guns. If sources are to be believed, when the car was caught some minister was to pass that route, however, it is not confirmed yet.

The police officials have refused to share the information about the ongoing investigation.

‘The blank firing guns are usually used in movies. But if real bullets are used, the impact will be same as that of a real pistol,’ said a senior police official.

Meanwhile, Suman Goyal, DCP (Southwest) said that both the accused have been booked under Arms Act. ‘We are questioning the accused We suspect the involvement of more people’, the DCP added.
