The city government is getting ready to allot around 10,000 low-cost houses. The houses would be allotted to eligible registered urban poor families and residents of JJ (jhuggi jhopri) clusters. The flats would be provided to people belonging to Scheduled Castes for free.
While making the announcement about the houses, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday claimed that her government has been in the service of people for the last 15 years.
Dikshit said this while addressing a mammoth rally in Sangam Vihar.Â
She said that her government was very sensitive towards the needs of the people of Delhi. ‘The government kept its promise and the biggest unauthorised colony of Sangam Vihar was protected from demolition. Development work in around 1,400 unauthorised colnies including Sangam Vihar is on,’ Dikshit claimed.
