10-member team to conduct technical audits on ongoing constructions

Delhi PWD minister Satyendra Jain has constituted a 10-member team of engineers to conduct a quality control and technical audit of all ongoing construction works of the Delhi government.
This team will be known by the name of Quality Assurance Unit and its mandate will be to ensure quality works and provide right technical inputs for the ongoing constructions of government buildings, roads, flyover and works being done by MLAs Local Area Development scheme (including civil, electrical and technical works).
Construction work sanctioned by MLAs under their Local Area Development scheme, works being carried out by various civic agencies, including the three Municipal Corporations of Delhi will be covered under this quality and technical audit. Jain has directed the Engineer-in-chief to issue instructions for smooth functioning of this unit, which will exercise quality and technical assurance checks on works being executed by state level public works organisations.
The unit will be headed by a Superintending Engineer (SE) and will have four executive engineers and four assistant engineers each, to begin with.
This unit will conduct suo motu checks and will take cognizance of complaints.
