10 injured in pub brawl in Rajouri Garden

The customers alleged that some pub staffers molested the girls in the group and refused to serve alcohol despite prior booking, while the pub authorities claimed that the guests damaged their property, exceeded the number of the guests and even refused payment, police said.

FIRs have been registered in this regard by both the parties against each other. Police have collected
CCTV footage of the pub to verify the claims. No arrest has been made in the case so far.

The incident took place at around 11.30 pm on Sunday at the pub situated in a mall. A man identified as Deepak had booked the pub for a friend’s birthday party. It was meant for 25 people but around 35-40 people reached for the party.

According to the pub authorities, the guests were heavily drunk and when the bartender refused to serve alcohol after 11.30 pm, they allegedly started threatening him. The pub’s manager, identified as Varun, somehow brokered peace.

Tensions resurfaced between the two parties when the guests refused to pay the bill of Rs 29,000 calling it exorbitant. The guests then allegedly thrashed one of the waiters and also picked up a table and hit him on his head. Seeing things going out of hands, the pub authorities called in the bouncers and some of the guests even had scuffle with them. Police got a call about the incident at around 11.50 pm following which a team rushed to the spot and brought things under control.

Ten persons with varying injuries were rushed to a nearby hospital and cross FIRs have been registered by the police in this connection and investigations are on.
