‘ I will be happy to have Shazia Ilmi back in AAP’

In a bid to reinventing and reviving the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after the recent Lok Sabha election, the three national executives of the party began a closed-door-meeting on Friday at the residence of senior leader Prashant Bhushan. The party said they it will work to bring back the founder member of AAP, Shazia Ilmi in the party soon. Meanwhile, AAP leaders admitted that there were differences prevailing within the party but also added that it was because of the power given to every leader to voice their opinion.

‘We have internal democracy in our party so we can have differences within the party as well. Every party member has the authority to voice his opinion,’ said senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh said.
While talking to the media, Singh further said that resignations by AAP leaders will be reconsidered and taken up for discussion when the party members meet again on Saturday. ‘We did not discuss resignations today. No resignations have been accepted by the party  yet,’ he said.

Anjalai Damania, who resigned from the AAP and then withdrew it has been assigned to bring back Shazia Ilmi into the party. ‘We will be happy if she comes back and works with us,’ said Singh .
Meanwhile, senior party leader Prashant Bhushan said that there is no question of Yogendra Yadav being isolated in the party. Bhushan’s comments come on a day when party leader Manish Sisodia’s letter to Yogendra Yadav accusing him of targeting AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal surfaced. Yadav is reportedly unhappy with the letter being leaked in the media.

When asked about the letter controversy senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia told Millennium Post ‘it was a internal discussion between me and Yogendra Yadav, however, media termed it as a letter which is wrong.’ He refused to say more on the issue.

While another senior leader Yogendra Yadav remained quite on the matter. Some 40 members, including party chief Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Yogendra Yadav were present at the meet which took place at Prashant Bhushan’s residence in Jangpura in south Delhi.

According to party sources, the AAP will analyse the reasons behind its defeat. Of the 440 seats where it fielded its candidates, it won only four.
