Kolkata: At a time when the Opposition parties in Bengal are training their guns at the ruling party amid corruption in the teacher recruitment process in state-run educational institutions, Trinamool Congress (TMC) has decided to draw up a list of merited candidates who were allegedly deprived of jobs during the Left Front government.

TMC, lately, has launched a scathing attack against the CPI(M) where it alleged that several Left party workers and their kin got state government jobs illegally at the cost of merited candidates being deprived.

Recently, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh read out names of CPI(M) leaders and their kin who were allegedly given jobs illegally during

the time of the Left Front rule in state government schools and colleges.

The list included the name of Left leader Sujan Chakraborty’s wife, among others. Kunal said that the party will compile a list of names that would be sent to the state education minister Bratya Basu to find out how these people were recruited.

It is this very list that the party is now compiling and for which it seeks to speak to candidates who feel they were deprived of jobs despite having merit.

The initiative is being taken by the TMC IT cell.

Debangshu Bhattacharya, State In-charge, AITC Social media & IT cell, wrote on his Facebook page that those who have been deprived of jobs, especially during the year 2009-2010 because their positions were instead offered to kin of the then ruling party (Left), can now send their grievances to the email id CpmCheatedUs@gmail.com.

Debangshu wrote that the complainants must send their grievances along with their names, the name of the district, contact number and valid documents of examination. He assured that if it is found that the documents sent are genuine, the party will call the complainant and hear their grievances in detail.

He further wrote that people are free to share any information concerning any CPI(M) leaders in their areas whose kin have got state government jobs illegally.

Information to be sent must include the name of the CPI(M) leader and his current position in the party along with the name of the person who was given the job illegally.

It was clarified that complainants have the option of requesting to keep their identities anonymous. Debansghu wrote that it’s high time that some corrupt leaders

are unmasked. He ended his message with TMC’s ‘Khela Hobe’ slogan.
