Kolkata: President Droupadi Murmu will be on a two-day tour of Bengal from Monday, during which she is slated to attend a number of programmes.
The President will begin her tour with a visit to Netaji Bhavan in Kolkata to pay homage to Subhash Chandra Bose. Later on during the day, she will visit Jorasanko Thakurbari — Rabindranath Tagore’s House — to pay tributes to him,.
In the late afternoon, the President will attend a civic reception hosted by the state government in her honour at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose will be present.
The next day the President will visit Belur Math and then grace the celebration of completion of 80 years of UCO Bank at Science City auditorium. Following this she will visit Santiniketan to grace the annual convocation of Visva-Bharati, according to a statement from Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Following her programmes on Tuesday, she will be leaving for Delhi.
