Police have arrested a toto driver for making indecent gestures in front of a ladies hostel in Jalpaiguri.
Police said that accused Sujit Dutta (43) was making indecent gesture in front of the college hostel and also used to abuse the women inmates.
The inmates of the hostel and the college students had informed the hostel authorities that toto driver has been making indecent gestures for quite some time.
The hostel authorities had informed the matter to the local police station but no action was taken against the accused. Prasanna Dev Women’s College’s hostel is situated on Jalpaiguri Club road. The accused toto driver often waits in front of the hostel and makes indecent gestures to the inmates of the hostel. As the police did not take any steps, the college girls decided to click photos of the toto driver to establish the case before the police were waiting for an opportunity.
On Wednesday evening the accused toto driver again turned up in front of the college hostel and performed the same act and the inmates of the hostel shot a video of the incident. The hostel authorities later handed over the video to the police and urged them to take action against Dutta.
