Trinamool Congress on Sunday said it will raise the issue of price rise aggressively in Parliament from day one of the upcoming Monsoon session beginning July 18 to seek “serious solutions and answers” from the government on it.

Its Parliamentary Party leader in Rajya Sabha Derek O’Brien said three notices have been given for discussion on this issue of urgent importance.

“We will take up the price rise issue in a big way in the ensuing session,” O’Brien said.

“While we are providing full support and taking a lead role to help pass GST, price rise and two or three other crucial issues will be flagged by us on which the government has to provide serious solutions and answers,” he added.

O’Brien stated that the issue of inflation will be raised aggressively from day one as “people across the country are bearing the burden of increasing prices of fuel, pulses, vegetables and other items.” He added that the common man is suffering due to soaring inflation.
