Tension gripped Agarpara in North 24-Parganas on Tuesday morning after local people found a man’s body with his throat slit near Vivekananda play ground, police said. After being informed police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.
The man has been identified as Rajesh Jaiswal alias Munna Sau (34), who according to police was involved in various anti-social activities in the area. He was a resident Kankinara in North 24-Parganas.
The police came to know that the victim went to one of his relatives’ house at Kamarhati, where he said that he would go to meet his friends at a nearby area and left the house on Monday evening. Since Jaiswal never returned on Monday night, his family members started searching for him in the nearby areas.
