A 40-year-old woman committed suicide by setting herself on fire after killing her two-year-old daughter and 10-month-old boy in her house at Shyampukur. Police said that the woman Sweata Mishra often used to have quarrels with her husband over different issues and she was suffering from depression as well.
On Thursday morning, she set her two children Manika and Onkar on fire and committed suicide. Local people saw smoke billowing from a window of the house and the door of the room locked from inside. Police went to the spot and broke open the door and took them to the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital where the three succumbed to their injuries.
