West Bengal Board Class X results: Marksheets to be handed over later

Update: 2020-07-14 18:35 GMT

Kolkata: The West Bengal Board Of Secondary Education (WBBSE) will declare the results of Madhyamik or Class X exams on Wednesday, announced Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday.

The announcement was made by Banerjee through a phone call to state Home Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay while he was holding a press conference.

The Madhyamik Examinations 2020 began from February 18 and continued till February 27. Over 10.15 lakh examinees had appeared for the examination conducted by the WBBSE.

A press statement from the WBBSE mentioned that the results will be declared by Board president Kalyanmoy Ganguly at 10 am on Wednesday through a virtual press conference and from 10.30 am onwards and will be made available in a number of websites including wbbse.org and wbresults.nic.in.

However, the marksheets and certificates will not be handed over to the candidates on Wednesday itself. "We will take up sanitisation of all the schools before handing over the marksheets. This process will take some time. The marksheets and certificates will be handed over to the respective guardians of the students in the same fashion as the mid-day meal is being handed over in the schools amidst lockdown due to the pandemic," said Kalyanmoy Ganguly, president of WBBSE.

The Board has fixed two tentative dates — July 22 and 23 — for handing over the mark-sheets to the guardians of the students from their respective schools. The Board will also come out with merit list of candidates.

Students can download mobile App "Madhyamik Results 2020" from Google Playstore or website: www.results.siksha free of cost and install it to get results through the app.

Meanwhile, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has declared that HS results will be announced at 3.30 pm on Friday.
