Kolkata: West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL) has recently won the prestigious Independent Power Producers' Association of India (IPPAI) award, 2018, as "Runner Up" in the category of "Best State Transmission Company" at the 19th Regulators & Policymakers Retreat (RPR).
The WBSETCL has bagged the award for its commendable service in maintaining system availability of 99.85% and transmission loss of only 2.77%, which is one of the best performances in the transmission sector of the entire country.
Being the state Transmission Utility under the state government, WBSETCL is providing support and best quality service since 2007. The Director (Operations) received the award on behalf of WBSETCL at Belgundi Belgaum in Karnataka recently.
A Press statement issued by WBSETCL says that it had earlier been conferred with the "Best Transmission Availability Award" (Gold Shield), by the Ministry of Power at the Centre in the very first year of its operation in 2007-08.
This recognition will certainly help WBSETCL to perform even better in the coming days not only to 'Transmit Power' but also to 'Transmit Happiness', the Press statement adds.
The award will also encourage WBSETCL to provide better service to the people.
