According to Kolkata Traffic Police, Behala bound vehicles have been diverted through Hastings, Circular Garden Reach Road and Taratala. Esplanade bound commuters has been advised to avail Diamond Harbour road, Taratala and Circular Garden Reach Road.

Apart from these routes, vehicles can also avail Karunamoyee via Tollygunj to reach Thakurpukur, Behala Chowrasta and Sakherbazar. Another route through New Alipore and Durgapur Bridge is also open for the commuters as per the traffic control room. But as these roads are narrower than Diamond Harbour Road, police are expecting traffic congestion from Wednesday.
