Kolkata: Trinamool Youth Congress will hold a candle march on Monday to protest against the brutal killing of five migrant workers by terrorists at Kulgam district in South Kashmir.
"It will be a protest march and we will be vocal demanding a thorough investigation in the incident. The rally will start from Birla Planetarium and will go till the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on Mayo Road," said Partha Chatterjee, Trinamool Congress secretary general on Saturday.
The Murshidabad district
leadership has been asked to organise similar protests at all blocks in the district. It may be mentioned that
all the five deceased labourers used
to reside at Bahalnagar in Murshi-
dabad.
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on
Thursday had described the incident as 'pre-planned murder' and questioned the security arrangements in place in the Valley after abrogation of Article 370.
At least 122 migrant labourers from Kashmir are on their way home in Bengal with the help of the state government that has gone out of its way to locate them even from the remotest corners of the northern state and purchased railway tickets for them so that they can return to their families safely.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is personally monitoring their movement along with two state government officials who have been engaged to maintain liaison with the government of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
