KOLKATA: Ahead of Durga Puja, the state Transport minister Snehasis Chakraborty announced a host of special packages that can be availed by people to visit famous Pujas pandals within Kolkata and the suburbs.
Starting from Saptami, followed by Navami and Dashami, lucrative packages have been announced for the people.
Each of these buses and launches will have an assistant to assist the visitors. It has been made mandatory for each visitor to carry a photo ID.
Amongst many such special packages announced by the minister is air-conditioned Volvo bus visit to famous Puja of Kolkata and suburbs, which will depart from Esplanade Tram Terminus at 8 am and take visitors to Badan Chandra Roy House, Belur Math, Bagbazar Haldarbari and Shobhabazar Rajbari, amongst others. This will cost Rs 1,850 per person and Rs 1,250 for children of 5-10 years of age.
Apart from sightseeing, most of these packages also include breakfast, lunch and snacks besides tea and drinking water.
There is also a package wherein visitors will be able to enjoy the famous puja in North Kolkata. For this package, there will be a launch from Millennium Park at 11 am. Visitors will also be taken by bus from Ahiritola Ghat to Shobhabazar Rajbari and Kumartuli Park, amongst others. For five hours, it will cost 600 per person.
Other packages include a tour to suburban Puja at Ekdalia and Shiv Mandir, amongst others; luxury bus tours to places like college square, Bagbazar, amongst others. Buses will also depart to Dhanyakuria and darshan tour to Jayrambati and Kamarpukur. Launches will be available for the Dasami day in order for the people to witness idol immersion. There will be one starting from Millennium Park for a cost of Rs 1,600 and another in North 24 Parganas costing Rs 2,500.
