President's Medal recipients for Fire Service, Home Guards & Civil Defence named

KOLKATA: The list of recipients of President's Medals for Fire Service, Home Guards and Civil Defence were declared on Thursday. As many as 86 personnel were included in the list Fire Service Medals, which would be given on the occasion of the Republic Day.

From Bengal, Leader Ashok Kumar Tarafder will receive the President's Fire Service medal for gallantry, whereas Divisional Fire Officer Dipankar Pathak, Sub-Officer Anup Kumar Banerjee, Leader Ramesh Chandra Nath, Leader Md. Ajahar Ali and Fire Operator Arun Kumar Dey will receive the President's Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service. The President's Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Distinguished Service will be awarded to Pralay Jana Ray, Sr Staff Officer Instructor (CD), whereas the Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service will be awarded to Sarmistha Sarma Sengupta, Officer Commanding Supply Service (CD), Asit Kumar Chatterjee, Sr Staff Officer Instructor (CD), Gopal Chandra Kunkri, Depot Superintendent (CD) and Dipankar Mondal, CD Volunteer. Manoj Banerjee, Deputy SP, CBI, SU, Kolkata, will receive the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
