Kolkata: A person was charred to death in an accidental fire that broke out at an earthen cup factory in Baguihati on Friday evening.
The deceased, Nirmal Mondal, was the owner of the factory located in the Mandalgathi area.
"The real cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
"However, preliminary investigations have pointed towards gas cylinder explosions
as the reason," a senior official of Bidhannagar City
Police said.
State Fire and Emergency Services minister Sujit Bose and Director General (DG) Jag Mohan also visited
the site.
