Siliguri: A youth lost his life in a bike accident near Babujoth area in Malbazar.
Tuskar Sarkar, a 35-year-old man, was travelling with his friend Mithu Paul (32), the pillion rider, from Odlabari on a bike.
The incident took place at around 9:30 pm on Thursday on the state road of Malbazar.
Lying in a pool of blood, Sarkar and Paul were noticed by the locals of Dhumshiganra area and taken to Malbazar hospital.
Paul was severely injured, while his friend Tuskar Sarkar was declared brought dead when taken to hospital, said a source. The police visited the accident spot and the hospital after being informed by the locals. The family members of the victims, residents of Millan Pally area near Gajoldoba, informed the police that the duo had travelled to Odlabari for some important work.
Sarkar's body had been sent for an autopsy while Paul is under treatment in the hospital at present. Police are trying to find out the exact reason behind the accident.
