Kolkata: The Board of New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) is preparing a draft to make the parks clean and green in the areas under its jurisdiction.

Steps will be taken to prevent the entry of stray dogs in the parks. Though the stray dogs have been sterilised, they enter the parks and some people strolling or staying in the parks get scared.

It may be mentioned that the entry of stray dogs in Rabindra Sarobar in South Kolkata has become a major menace.

NKDA has launched a massive drive to catch stray cows on Biswa Bangla Sarani, as they had posed a serious threat to traffic a few years ago.

A number of road accidents had taken place on the major thoroughfare, where drivers have a tendency to accelerate. The stray cows used to come in front of the speeding vehicles, resulting in major accidents.

The stray cows are now caught and a rehabilitation centre has been constructed, where they are looked after properly.

The parks will be beautified and there will be more facilities for the visitors. A draft is being prepared on the steps that will be taken to further beautify the parks.
