Kolkata: In connection with the murder of management student Debanjan Das of Nimta, the police came to know that after the car accident, a few unknown youths were seen in the area, who were checking whether the youth was alive or dead.
It is suspected that the killer was sitting inside the car when Debanjan was shot.
According to sources, during investigation it was found that Debanjan was shot on his left shoulder blade and his hand. After autopsy, concerned surgeon opined that no such injuries were found on the body, which was incurred due to an accident.
Also seeing the position of bullet injuries, it can be assumed that Debanjan was shot from his left and the killer was behind him.
A few of the local residents, who came out of their houses after hearing the sound of the accident, saw that a young woman and two youths were walking towards Birati and the woman was feeling not well. One of the local residents even asked them whether they were inside the car or not.
Replying him, they said no and left the area. A few moments later two more youths came and held Debanjan's hand to check the pulse. When they understood that he is no more, they left the spot.
This grew doubt within police officials as two youths were trying to be sure that Debanjan has died.

Rest three window glasses were closed. Police sources informed that after Sarkar's dropping, Debanjan had called her. However, she did not receive the call. Later, the police called her and informed that Debanjan has died. The police suspect that there were some problems with Sarkar having relation with Debanjan. Sarkar's another friend, identified as Prince Singh, with whom she had relation earlier allegedly threatened Debanjan to shoot.
On Friday, Debanjan's father Arun Das met Commissioner of Police (CP), Barrackpore, Manoj Verma, and demanded fair investigation. He also informed CP about the inactiveness of the Inspector-in-Charge (IC), Nimta police station Shibu Ghosh.
