Minor boy injured in crude bomb explosion

Kolkata: A 14-year-old boy suffered critical injuries when he tried to open a container, inside which there some crude bombs.
According to the police, the victim Rintu Shaw, touched the container which was kept inside an abandoned hostel of Amherst Street City College.
According to the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the victim was playing inside the abandoned hostel when the bombs exploded.
He suffered splinter injuries on various parts of his body. After being attracted by a loud sound, the local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the victim. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical College and Hospital.
The incident took place at around 9.40 am on Sunday. Why the boy entered into the abandoned building is still not clear with the police.
The local residents alleged that they had attracted the attention of the police repeatedly that the abandoned building had become a den of anti-socials, but they had not taken any step.
