Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to attend a meeting in Chennai on the first death anniversary of M Karunanidhi on August 7. Earlier, on July 26, Tiruchi Shiva, DMK Rajya Sabha member, met Banerjee at Nabanna and invited her to attend the meeting. Sources said that the DMK has invited Banerjee to unveil a statue of the late leader. She might also address a public meeting which is supposed to be attended by several Opposition leaders as well. It may be recalled that on January 19, M K Stalin had addressed the United India rally in Kolkata. Banerjee has very cordial relations with Stalin and had also predicted that the DMK would come to power in Tamil Nadu defeating AIADMK in the Assembly elections.
