Kolkata: Chief Secretary Malay De held a meeting on Wednesday at Nabanna to ensure proper preparation so that Haj pilgrims do not face any inconvenience.
Senior officials of departments including Home, Minority Affairs and Minority Education, Public Works Department, Fire and Emergency Services Department, Information and Cultural Affairs, concerned police officers and airports authorities were present in the meeting that continued for around one and a half hours.
There were detailed discussions on the preparation and a presentation has been shown in the meeting to make all aspects of the arrangements clear. There was discussion on make shift tents and where they will be set up and areas that are to be developed as parking lots.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee directed to take all necessary steps so that the pilgrims do not face any inconvenience. Following the direction, the officials took all necessary steps to ensure the same. State Urban Development minister Firhad Hakim recently inaugurated a revamped Haj Sathi app.
